YOUNG PEOPLE'S DIVISION (YPD)

What is YPD in AME?

THE YOUNG PEOPLE and CHILDREN'S DIVISION (YPD) is a youth organization, established in October 1915, under the auspices to the Women's Missionary Society (WMS) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

YPD Motto: "Grow, Glow and Go for Christ"

YPD Colors: Forest Green and White

YPD Mission Statement: 

Purpose: The YPD under the leadership of the Women's Missionary Society provides meaningful youth training programs and opportunities for leadership experience in all areas of church life. By providing training in Evangelism, Christian Social Relations, and Education programs the YPD is designed to connect youth more fully to the mission of the church and increase knowledge of the African Methodist Episcopal Church history and the scriptures.

We want all of our youth to know Jesus Christ and to find their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Him. We have designed our youth ministry to deepen understanding of the greatness of our God, and to give encouragement in the pursuit of godliness.
